Chelsea confirm four players will leave the club at contract expiry as the Blues release their retained and released list for 2025/26

Chelsea Football Club has confirmed that four players will depart the club at the expiration of their contracts on June 30, following the release of its retained and released list for the 2025/26 season.

The announcement was made via the club’s official X handle, marking the end of the season for several academy graduates and first-team squad members.

Defender Brodi Hughes is among those leaving after 13 years with the club, having joined Chelsea as an Under-8 and progressed through the Academy at Cobham. He spent last season on loan at League One side AFC Wimbledon.

Richard Olise also departs after a decade at Stamford Bridge. He joined the club as an Under-9 and featured across multiple youth levels, also being included in a first-team squad for a UEFA Conference League fixture during the 2024/25 campaign.

Midfielder Sam Rak-Sakyi will leave after making four first-team appearances. He joined the Academy at age eight and rose through the youth ranks, also representing England at youth level.

He made his senior debut in the UEFA Conference League and went on to feature in the competition on multiple occasions.

Jimi Tauriainen completes the list of departures. He joined Chelsea in 2020 and was previously named among the first-team substitutes for the 2024 Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

The exits come as Chelsea begin another phase of squad restructuring ahead of the new season.
