Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze faces an uncertain future at AC Milan, with the Italian club reportedly viewing the 26-year-old as one of their most sellable assets ahead of the new season.

The Nigeria international has returned to the San Siro after the expiration of his loan spell at Fulham, where he impressed with three goals and four assists in 23 Premier League appearances.

However, Fulham decided against triggering the €26 million permanent transfer option.

Italian reports suggest Milan are still engaged in talks with Fulham over a possible revised deal, but no agreement has been finalised.

According to respected Italian football journalist Luca Cerchione, the Rossoneri are open to offers for Chukwueze if a suitable proposal arrives.

“The club views Chukwueze as a sellable asset, though they are prepared to let him leave only if a suitable offer arrives,” Cerchione wrote on X.

He noted that the Nigerian’s situation differs from several other players who are considered surplus to requirements.

Chukwueze joined Milan from Villarreal in the summer of 2023 for €20 million on a five-year contract.

With two years remaining on his deal, the club is expected to weigh its squad planning needs carefully while protecting his market value.

The winger will join the Milan squad for pre-season training, but increased competition for places in the attacking positions could push him towards a move.

A fresh start elsewhere would offer the talented Nigerian a valuable chance to secure regular playing time ahead of Nigeria’s crucial international fixtures.

Despite flashes of brilliance, Chukwueze has struggled for consistent starts at the San Siro since his arrival.
