Inter Milan are considering activating an €8.5m buy-back clause to bring Super Eagles midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro back to the club this summer after his loan spell at relegated Pisa

Inter Milan are seriously weighing whether to trigger an €8.5 million buy-back clause to recall Super Eagles midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro from his season-long loan at Pisa.

The 21-year-old Nigerian impressed during his time in Serie A with the Tuscan side, but Pisa were relegated and have activated their own €7.5 million option to sign him permanently.

However, Inter retain the final decision thanks to the buy-back clause inserted in last summer’s deal.

Akinsanmiro joined Inter from Remo Stars in 2023 and has spent most of his time in Italy out on loan due to stiff competition for places at the San Siro.

He made 35 appearances for Sampdoria in Serie B during the 2024/25 season before moving to Pisa, where he featured 25 times.

Despite Pisa’s relegation, Inter’s hierarchy continue to hold the former Primavera star in high regard.

The club believes he possesses the technical qualities and potential to develop into a first-team midfielder at the highest level.

He previously shone for Inter’s youth team, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 42 appearances.

Italian reports suggest the champions are leaning towards activating the clause, especially as they feel continued development in Serie A would best serve the youngster’s growth.

Should they bring him back, the most likely outcome would be either integration into the senior squad or another loan to a competitive Serie A club.

A return to Pisa in Serie B is considered the least probable scenario.

This development comes as Inter look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season while carefully managing their promising young talents.
