Wike PDP winning faction leader: Akpabio sparks political tension after describing Wike as leader of PDP’s “winning faction” in Abuja remarks

Akpabio said, “APC was born in about 2014 and by that time I was already seven and a half years as a governor… I sometimes refer to myself as an ancestor.”

He added that his decision to join the APC was based on political alignment rather than personal conflict, stating that he eventually found a “progressive family” within the ruling party.

However, it was his closing remark that drew the most attention, as he described Wike in striking terms while acknowledging his influence within the opposition party.

“I recognise you as the National leader of the winning faction of the PDP because you are doing well,” Akpabio said, a statement that sparked murmurs among attendees and quickly circulated in political circles.
