Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe were on target as Real Madrid maintained their flawless La Liga start with a commanding win at the Bernabeu

Real Madrid secured a third consecutive La Liga victory under Jose Mourinho on Sunday, August 30, 2026, sweeping aside Malaga 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu as Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe continued their impressive starts to the campaign.

Bellingham and Mbappe both found the net during a blistering first-half spell that put Real Madrid firmly in control, while Malaga goalkeeper Alfonso Herrero inadvertently turned another effort into his own net.

Arda Guler completed the emphatic victory late in the second half as Madrid maintained their perfect record and strengthened the sense of early-season confidence around Mourinho’s team.

Mourinho made five changes to the side that had started Madrid’s opening two matches, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Marc Cucurella among those handed their first starts of the season.

The changes did little to disrupt Madrid’s attacking rhythm.

Bellingham opened the scoring after 19 minutes with a superb individual effort. The England midfielder drove into the Malaga defence, beat two opponents and finished through Herrero’s legs.

Seven minutes later, Bellingham was involved again as Madrid doubled their advantage in unfortunate circumstances for the visitors.

Herrero initially denied Mbappe, but Bellingham headed the rebound back towards goal. Carlos Puga attempted to clear the ball off the line, only for the effort to rebound into the net via Herrero.

Mbappe then added Madrid’s third in the 30th minute, meeting a cross from Alexander-Arnold with a composed volley that gave Herrero no chance.

The goal took Mbappe’s tally to four for the campaign and temporarily placed the France captain at the top of La Liga’s scoring charts.

Malaga, however, showed enough attacking intent to suggest that the visitors were not prepared to simply surrender.

Rafa Rodriguez struck the post shortly before half-time after a corner was worked towards him, while Chupe sent another effort narrowly against the side netting.

Madrid returned after the interval with the advantage firmly in their hands and largely controlled the contest without needing to reach the intensity of their first-half display.

The fourth goal eventually arrived late in the match.

Vinicius Junior created the opening for Guler, who was perfectly placed to tap home from close range and put the finishing touch to a convincing afternoon for the hosts.

The result gives Mourinho’s side three wins from three league matches and keeps Madrid’s early campaign moving with considerable momentum.

Bellingham’s influence has been particularly encouraging, while Mbappe has quickly established himself as a potent threat in front of goal.

For Malaga, the evening offered a difficult reminder of the gap between a newly promoted side and one of Europe’s most decorated clubs.

Real Madrid will now look to carry their impressive early form into the next round of fixtures as the pressure builds on the rest of the title contenders.

Barcelona will have an opportunity to maintain their own perfect start on Monday when the defending champions host Rayo Vallecano in their third match of the campaign.
