Airstrikes triumph as the Nigerian Air Force destroys terror bases in Katsina and stops an ISWAP attack on Chibok in decisive operations

The Nigerian Air Force has announced that its Airstrikes Triumph continues to deliver decisive results, following a fresh wave of precision operations that dismantled terror camps in Katsina and foiled a coordinated ISWAP and Boko Haram assault on Chibok in Borno State.

In a statement released on Sunday in Abuja, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, confirmed that the latest gains were achieved under Operation FANSAN YAMMA and Operation HADIN KAI.

He noted that intelligence-led surveillance enabled fighter aircraft to strike accurately and disrupt hostile movements across both regions.

In Katsina, the air interdictions conducted on November 27 targeted the fortified base of a notorious terrorist leader linked to kidnappings, violent attacks and cattle rustling across Kankara, Faskari and Malumfashi.

The first strike, launched shortly after 6:30 a.m., destroyed key structures and neutralised several fighters who attempted to escape after their movements were tracked from the air.

A second strike later the same evening hit a major hideout in Danfako, Faskari, destroying logistics hubs and operational facilities used by the armed groups.

According to Ejodame, multiple terrorists were eliminated, weakening their operational chain and further restricting their freedom of action in the North West.

In the North East, NAF aircraft delivered crucial support to troops of the 28 Task Force Brigade when ISWAP and Boko Haram launched a multi-directional offensive on Chibok.

Four precision airstrikes were executed on regrouping and retreating fighters, inflicting significant casualties and blocking the insurgents from reorganising.

Ejodame explained that the integrated air and ground response overwhelmed the attackers, safeguarding residents and preventing what could have become a serious security setback.

He added that the operations underline the Air Force’s commitment to sustained precision strikes designed to degrade terrorist capabilities and reinforce national security.
