Mikel Arteta has provided injury updates on Arsenal stars, confirming Mikel Merino’s return to training while Jurrien Timber remains sidelined

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh update on his squad’s fitness situation ahead of the club’s final two matches of the season.

The Premier League champions travel to face Crystal Palace on Sunday before turning attention to the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain next weekend.

Arteta confirmed positive news regarding midfielder Mikel Merino, who has returned to full training and is expected to rejoin the squad soon.

“Merino is going to start to train with the group tomorrow. Today was a light session,” Arteta told reporters.

However, the Arsenal boss delivered a more cautious update on defender Jurrien Timber, who remains behind in his recovery process.

“Jurrien, let’s hope he can do the same in the next few days. He’s a bit further behind than Mikel,” he added.
