Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has reacted to Arsenal’s confirmation as champions of the 2025/2026 English Premier League season, drawing a parallel between the club’s success and his vision for Nigeria’s economic development ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atiku Abubakar made the remarks in a statement issued through his spokesperson, Phrank Shaibu, shortly after Arsenal were officially crowned champions following Manchester City’s draw against Bournemouth on Tuesday.

He also encouraged Arsenal to complete their season strongly by targeting victory in the UEFA Champions League, describing their campaign as an example of disciplined long-term planning.
