Cristiano Ronaldo will miss Portugal’s international friendlies against Mexico and the United States as he focuses on full recovery from injury

Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo will not be included in Portugal’s squad for next week’s international friendlies due to ongoing injury concerns.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the decision followed discussions between Ronaldo’s club, Al Nassr, and the Portugal national team backroom staff, prioritising the forward’s full recovery.

“Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Portugal squad for the friendly games next week as he’s still injured. Priority to full recovery after discussions between Al Nassr and Portugal backroom staff,” the announcement read.

Ronaldo is currently undergoing rehabilitation, and medical teams have opted against risking further complications ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has scored 22 goals across competitions for Al Nassr this season.

His absence is precautionary, ensuring he regains full fitness before returning to action for both club and country.

Portugal will face Mexico on March 28 and the United States on March 31 as part of their final preparations for the FIFA World Cup, scheduled across Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
