Speaking in a heartfelt interview with HipTv on Wednesday, the award-winning disc jockey reflected on the experience that left a lasting mark on his career.

Neptune, whose full name is Imohiosen Patrick, revealed that he had worked with numerous artists around the world.

Recounting the session, Neptune said, “When we recorded the remix of ‘123’, we pulled up together, he asked for the beat to be played.

Then we transferred the song to his phone, he excused us and when he was done he came back and straight in the booth. Less than 8 minutes. Straight take. It’s so sad because that was the last time I saw him.”

Da Grin, known for his lyrical depth and delivery in Yoruba, passed away in 2010 following a car accident, but his influence continues to echo through the Nigerian music scene. Neptune’s tribute shines a light on the rapper’s raw talent and work ethic, even in his final days.
