Elijah Adebayo Bristol City move is confirmed as the 28-year-old striker joins the Robins on a two-year deal after leaving Luton Town

Elijah Adebayo, the 28-year-old former Luton Town striker, has joined Bristol City on a two-year contract, completing a permanent move to the Championship club on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

Adebayo became Bristol City’s 10th summer signing after leaving Luton Town at the end of the previous campaign and spending part of pre-season training with Michael Skubala’s side.

The move gives Bristol City an experienced attacking option as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.

Adebayo will wear the No. 45 shirt at Ashton Gate and is expected to provide additional competition for places in Skubala’s forward line.

The striker said he was eager to begin his new chapter with the Robins after settling quickly during his time with the squad.

“I can’t wait to get started. The place has a feel-good factor, and it has been easy for me to settle in,” Adebayo said.

His arrival also adds experience to a Bristol City attack preparing for the demands of another competitive Championship campaign.

Adebayo began his senior career with Walsall before spells with clubs including Swindon Town, Cheltenham Town and Luton Town.

His time at Luton saw him become an important part of the club’s attacking setup and earn recognition for his physical presence and work rate.

The permanent agreement with Bristol City now gives Adebayo an opportunity to establish himself at a new club and contribute to Skubala’s plans.
