Eterna Industries boosts Castrol distribution across Nigeria as part of an aggressive strategy to curb product adulteration, deepen market presence, and support local manufacturing efforts in the automotive lubricant sector.

At its 2025 National Distributor Conference held in Lagos, Eterna Industries Limited – the authorised distributor of Castrol products in Nigeria – met with key lubricant distributors to accelerate business growth and reinforce product integrity.

Managing Director Bunmi Agagu-Adu reflected on the company’s three-decade partnership with Castrol, noting that the collaboration began in 1991 and took a strategic turn in 2017 when Castrol GTX began blending operations in Nigeria.

“Our partnership with Castrol has spanned over 30 years and continues to grow stronger,” Agagu-Adu stated.

“Blending Castrol GTX 20W-50 locally means not just industrial development but also job creation and value addition within Nigeria.”

She stressed the importance of curbing the sale of adulterated lubricants, advising distributors and consumers to purchase only from Eterna Plc’s 83 retail outlets nationwide or through authorised sub-distributors.

“Using the right lubricant starts with buying from the right source. That’s the only way to maintain engine productivity and protect vehicle performance,” she added.

The conference also marked a forward-looking shift for the company, as the Castrol team announced the upcoming introduction of CASTROL ON—a high-performance line of e-fluids for electric vehicles.

The move aligns with the company’s broader goal of supporting Nigeria’s transition to more sustainable, future-ready mobility solutions.

“We are blending more of our products locally and introducing innovations that match global standards. Our 125-year legacy is built on high-tech quality and consistent innovation,” Agagu-Adu affirmed.

Distributors at the event welcomed the engagement, urging Eterna to expand market penetration so more Nigerians can benefit from Castrol’s premium-quality lubricants.

One distributor noted, “The product is excellent, but awareness and access must improve. The market needs to experience the quality firsthand.”
