Euracare Hospital responds to MDCN interim suspension, defends doctors, and commits to transparency and due process in ongoing investigation

Euracare Multi-Specialist Hospital has issued a formal response to the interim suspension orders announced by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Investigation Panel (MDIP), which affect thirteen medical practitioners, including two affiliated with the hospital, in connection with the death of Master Nkanu Nnamdi Esege.

In its statement, the hospital emphasised full cooperation with regulatory and judicial authorities and reiterated its commitment to transparency and accountability throughout the ongoing investigation.

Euracare expressed confidence in the professionalism and integrity of its clinical team, highlighting Dr. Tosin Majekodunmi and Dr. Titus Ogundare.

The hospital noted that both practitioners have extensive experience in Nigeria’s healthcare sector and have consistently delivered care aligned with international standards.

The institution disclosed that it conducted a thorough internal assessment of the clinical events under review, adhering to established governance protocols and global best practices.

It reaffirmed an open posture in responding to inquiries and pledged to continue cooperating as the investigation proceeds.

However, Euracare raised concerns about certain aspects of the investigative process, suggesting that some procedural standards may not have been strictly followed.

The hospital also highlighted what it described as breaches involving the disclosure of confidential patient and institutional information, warning that such actions require proper scrutiny.

Reaffirming its dedication to fairness, equality, and good governance, the hospital insisted that all parties, including its staff and the institution, are entitled to impartial and procedurally rigorous treatment.

Euracare stated that it will formally address its concerns through appropriate legal and regulatory channels.

While defending its clinical personnel and institutional standards, Euracare extended empathy to the family of Master Nkanu Nnamdi Esege, acknowledging the profound grief involved and affirming that this awareness continues to guide its conduct and communications regarding the case.
