UEFA has unveiled the Europa League Team of the Season, with Aston Villa leading the selections after their Europa League victory

UEFA has announced its official Europa League Team of the Season following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign, with champions Aston Villa FC strongly represented in the final selection.

The Europa League Team of the Season was compiled by UEFA’s Technical Observer Group after the competition ended on Wednesday, highlighting standout performers across Europe’s second-tier club tournament.

Aston Villa, who secured the Europa League title with a 3-0 victory over SC Freiburg in the final in Turkey, dominate the selection with four players included in the XI.

Goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez of Aston Villa FC was named in the team after a series of consistent performances throughout the competition.

The defensive line features Victor Gómez of SC Braga, Matthias Ginter of SC Freiburg, Morato of Nottingham Forest FC and Oscar Mingueza of RC Celta de Vigo.

In midfield, Maximilian Eggestein of SC Freiburg joins Aston Villa duo John McGinn and Morgan Rogers, both of whom played key roles in the club’s title-winning campaign.

The attacking trio includes Antony of Real Betis Balompié, Igor Jesus of Nottingham Forest FC and Emiliano Buendía of Aston Villa FC.
