Flamingos thrash RoyalToms Queens 11-0 in a dominant friendly win as Nigeria prepare for U-17 WWCQ qualifier against Benin Republic

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, delivered a commanding 11-0 victory over RoyalToms Queens in a friendly match at the Remo Stars Sports Complex as they step up preparations for their 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign against Benin Republic.

The emphatic win served as the team’s final warm-up match before their crucial qualifying fixtures, with the squad showing sharpness and attacking intent throughout the encounter.

Harmony Chidi led the scoring with a clinical hat-trick, underlining her growing importance in the Flamingos’ attacking setup.

Kindness Ifeanyi added a brace, while Queen Joseph, Mary Dunstan, Tobiloba Sarafa, Destiny Itobore, Precious Oscar, and Koasarat Olarenwaju also got on the scoresheet in a one-sided contest that highlighted Nigeria’s depth in attacking options.

The Flamingos dominated proceedings from start to finish, overwhelming RoyalToms Queens with relentless pressure, quick transitions and clinical finishing that left little room for response.

Head coach Akeem Busari will now turn attention fully to the upcoming qualifiers, with the first leg against Benin Republic scheduled for Saturday, 4 July, at the Remo Stars Sports Complex.

The return leg is set to take place a week later at the Stade de Kégué in Lomé, where the team will aim to secure progression in the qualification race.
