Antoine Griezmann 200 Atletico goal marked a special milestone as the Frenchman helped Diego Simeone’s side secure a dominant 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League.

With head coach Simeone serving a one-match touchline ban, Atleti wasted no time at the Metropolitano, taking the lead after just four minutes when Giacomo Raspadori finished Giuliano Simeone’s cutback.

Robin Le Normand made it 2-0 from a Julian Alvarez corner before Griezmann struck on the stroke of half-time.

The 33-year-old latched onto Alvarez’s dazzling solo run to score his 200th goal for the club, celebrating by lifting a shirt reading Grizi 200 to the crowd.

Jonathan Burkardt briefly pulled one back for Frankfurt with a deflected strike off Marcos Llorente, but Simeone’s son restored the cushion with a smart back-post finish.

The night was capped when Alvarez converted a Panenka penalty to seal a statement 5-1 win, adding to his two assists.

The result gave Atleti their first Champions League victory of the season and underlined Griezmann’s enduring impact.
