Armed men abduct four relatives of JIBWIS Chief Imam in Digare, Bauchi. Police and army rescue two, ongoing efforts to recover remaining victims

Four family members of Imam Abubakar Muhammad Digare were abducted during a late-night attack in Digare community, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The attack occurred around 10:34 p.m. on Saturday as residents were preparing for bed. Witnesses reported gunshots fired into the air before assailants forced their way into the Imam’s compound, causing panic.

Four abducted: Rukayya Junaidu (19), Nafisa Zubairu (19), Safiya Imam Lata (18), Maryam Dadalliya (30)
Two rescued unharmed: Lawiza Abubakar (35) and Musa Abdullahi (10)

One of the Imam’s mobile phones was also taken during the raid. Security sources confirmed the Chief Imam himself escaped unharmed.

The Bauchi State Police Command, led by SP Nafiu Abubakar, reported a joint rescue operation involving the police, Nigerian Army, and local vigilante groups.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, assured residents that efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining abductees and apprehend the perpetrators.
