Harry Kane scores twice as England complete a perfect World Cup qualifying campaign, winning all eight matches without conceding a goal

Harry Kane England World Cup qualifying heroics capped a flawless campaign as the Three Lions defeated Albania 2-0 in Tirana on Sunday.

Kane struck twice in the final stages, ensuring England finished Group K with eight wins from eight matches, conceding no goals.

Under Thomas Tuchel, England became the first European side in history to win all World Cup qualifiers in a campaign of at least six matches without conceding.

They join Norway and Spain as the only nations to maintain a perfect record in 2025 qualifiers, with England scoring 22 goals along the way.

Kane opened the scoring in the 74th minute, tapping in from Bukayo Saka’s corner after Albanian goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha failed to gather.

He added a second in the 82nd minute, heading in Marcus Rashford’s cross to finish the campaign with 78 goals in 112 international appearances.

Despite dominating possession, England struggled to break down a resilient Albania, unbeaten in their previous eight matches.

Tuchel made seven changes to the side, bringing Jude Bellingham back into the starting XI for the first time since June, who played a key role in creating Kane’s first goal.

“This was a difficult, emotional match. We had to overcome challenging moments, but we were fully in control and deserved the win,” Tuchel said.

England now look ahead to the World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico next summer, with the draw scheduled for Washington on December 5.

The campaign also marks England’s highest win percentage in a calendar year since 1946, with nine victories from ten games under Tuchel, including only one friendly loss to Senegal.
