Ifeanyi Ogbu kidnapping has sent shockwaves through the Federal Capital Territory after armed men abducted a veterinary doctor, Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, and his three children in a late-night raid on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at around 11:45 p.m. in Kungabokun, a quiet border village between the FCT and Niger State. According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen broke into the doctor’s residence through a window before taking him and his children away to an undisclosed location.

Residents said the attack threw the community into panic, with gunshots echoing through the night as the assailants made their escape.

Police officers from the Byazhin Division, alongside the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and local vigilantes, responded swiftly to the distress call.

Security operatives have since launched a massive manhunt across surrounding forests and rocky terrains believed to be hideouts for the attackers.

A police source told Zagazola Makama that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) had opened an investigation into the case.

“Every possible step is being taken to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped victims,” the source confirmed, assuring residents of increased patrols in vulnerable border communities.

The abduction of Dr. Ogbu and his children underscores the growing insecurity around the outskirts of Abuja and the FCT-Niger border, where residents have repeatedly reported night raids and ransom kidnappings in recent months.

Authorities have urged anyone with useful information to assist security agencies in their rescue operation as the search intensifies.
