Igbara-Oke General Hospital is fully functional and staffed, Ondo State’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Banji Ajaka, has confirmed.

This assurance comes in response to recent claims of neglect and shortages at the facility.

Dr Ajaka highlighted that the hospital currently operates with 138 personnel across essential departments, including seven doctors, three optometrists, and 27 nurses.

The facility also boasts seven pharmacy technicians and a team of laboratory scientists and technicians.

Addressing concerns over power supply, the commissioner revealed that the hospital is powered by a solar energy system supported by an inverter, ensuring continuous electricity and reducing service interruptions.

Contrary to reports of abandonment, the Commissioner affirmed that the Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa-led administration has been actively investing in the hospital’s human resources, infrastructure, and medical equipment.

Residents of Ifedore and neighbouring communities can confidently access skilled healthcare at Igbara-Oke General Hospital, which remains a vital part of the state’s healthcare delivery system.

Dr Ajaka concluded, “Igbara-Oke General Hospital is not a symbol of neglect, but a working healthcare facility staffed with competent personnel who are daily serving the needs of our citizens. We will continue to improve infrastructure and service delivery in line with our vision for a healthier Ondo State.”
