Kwara common entrance registration begins online for Primary Six pupils, with the state government warning against extortion

The Kwara State Government has commenced free online registration for the 2026 Placement Examination into public junior secondary schools, introducing a dedicated digital platform for eligible Primary Six pupils across the state.

The registration exercise, popularly known as the Common Entrance Examination, is intended for pupils seeking admission into public junior secondary schools in Kwara State.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by Peter Amogbonjaye on behalf of the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.

According to the ministry, Kwara Common Entrance registration for pupils in private primary schools will begin on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, while registration for pupils in public primary schools will commence on Friday, 12 June 2026.

The ministry stated that registration for all categories of schools will close on 22 June 2026 and urged school administrators, parents and guardians to comply with the established timetable.

Officials explained that the exercise will be conducted through pupils’ current schools and is strictly limited to Primary Six pupils enrolled in approved public and private primary schools across the state.

As part of the registration requirements, private primary schools have been directed to obtain clearance from the Quality Assurance Bureau before gaining access to portal login credentials needed for the process.

The ministry stressed that the exercise is completely free and warned against any form of extortion by school officials.

It cautioned principals, headteachers and other administrators against demanding money from pupils or parents under any pretext, warning that offenders would face sanctions in accordance with the law.

The government said the measure is aimed at ensuring equal access to the examination while protecting families from unauthorised charges.

The Kwara Common Entrance registration exercise forms part of the state’s efforts to improve access to quality secondary education and streamline the transition process from primary to junior secondary school.

The ministry encouraged parents and school authorities to take advantage of the registration window to ensure that all eligible pupils are enrolled before the deadline.

Education officials also expressed confidence that the online platform would improve efficiency, reduce administrative bottlenecks and provide a seamless registration experience for schools across the state.
