Lamine Yamal produced a superb performance as Barcelona came from behind three times to draw 3-3 with **Club Brugge in a thrilling Champions League encounter on Wednesday night.

The 17-year-old winger was instrumental for Hansi Flick’s injury-hit side, who were forced to dig deep to earn a point in Belgium after their defence was repeatedly exposed by the hosts.

Brugge winger Carlos Forbs was electric, scoring twice and setting up another for Nicolo Tresoldi, while Ferran Torres, Yamal, and an own goal from Christos Tzolis salvaged a result that keeps Barcelona’s hopes of a top-eight finish alive.

The hosts made a dream start at the Jan Breydel Stadium when Forbs’ pace tore through Barca’s back line to set up Tresoldi for the opener.

But Torres responded quickly, finishing neatly after Fermin Lopez’s clever through ball.

Moments later, Lopez rattled the crossbar before Forbs restored Brugge’s lead, playing a slick one-two with Tzolis and firing past Wojciech Szczesny.

Barca were unlucky not to equalise before half-time as Jules Kounde struck the bar and Torres squandered a fine chance created by Yamal, who tormented the Brugge defence throughout.

After the break, Brugge refused to sit back. Szczesny denied Joaquin Seys at the near post, while Eric Garcia became the third Barca player to hit the woodwork with a long-range effort.

Barcelona’s persistence was finally rewarded when Yamal linked brilliantly with Lopez, collecting a backheel and slotting home for 2-2.

Forbs soon struck again, chipping delicately over Szczesny after being played through by Hans Vanaken, only for Yamal to have the final word.

His curling strike from the right took a deflection off Tzolis and nestled into the net for 3-3.

Late drama followed when Brugge thought they had stolen victory — Romeo Vermant slid in on Szczesny and rolled the ball into the empty goal — but VAR ruled it out for a foul on the goalkeeper.

The draw leaves Barcelona still in search of defensive stability, with Flick’s men having now conceded nine goals in their last four matches across all competitions.
