The showpiece match, played at the King Abdullah Sports City, saw Napoli assert their authority against Bologna, the defending Coppa Italia holders, with a performance marked by control, precision and ruthless finishing.

David Neres broke the deadlock shortly before half-time, curling a powerful long-range effort beyond Bologna goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia to give Napoli a deserved lead.

The winger doubled Napoli’s advantage in the second half after capitalising on a costly error, intercepting a loose pass from Ravaglia and finishing calmly to seal the result.

The decisive display crowned a dominant tournament for Neres, who finished with three goals after also scoring in Napoli’s 2-0 semi-final win over AC Milan last week.

Napoli’s Italian Super Cup victory further underlined their status as a formidable force in domestic competition and extended their growing trophy haul under the current campaign.

Since 2023, the Italian Super Cup has adopted a four-team format, featuring the Serie A champions and runners-up alongside the Coppa Italia winners and finalists.
