Two Nigerians arrested Libya drugs case as authorities recover hashish, Tramadol, Lyrica, and cash. Suspects handed over for investigation and prosecution

Libya’s Counter-Terrorism Forces have arrested two undocumented Nigerians suspected of involvement in drug trafficking. The arrest was announced on Thursday in a statement by Migrant Rescue Watch, published on X (formerly Twitter).

The individuals were apprehended with a quantity of hashish, along with hallucinogenic pills including Tramadol and Lyrica. Authorities also seized a large amount of cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.

A source within the operation confirmed that the suspects were undocumented migrants and had been monitored for suspected trafficking activity in the area.

“Counter-Terrorism Forces arrested 2 undocumented migrants of Nigerian nationality for drug trafficking,” the official statement read. “The individuals were found in possession of hashish, hallucinogenic pills—Tramadol and Lyrica—as well as cash from proceeds.”

The suspects have since been transferred to legal authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Although no additional details were provided regarding the suspects’ identities, officials emphasised that the case would be treated with urgency due to the nature of the substances involved.
