Nollywood actor Niyi Ralph claims some Obidients remain hurt by Tinubu’s 2023 election victory and criticise the President regardless of his actions

Nollywood actor Niyi Ralph has claimed that some supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi remain dissatisfied with President Bola Tinubu because of his victory in the 2023 presidential election.

Ralph made the claim during a recent interview with Nolly TV while discussing criticism directed at the President and the reasons behind continued opposition to his administration.

According to the actor, some Nigerians did not accept Tinubu from the outset, arguing that their hostility towards the President was rooted largely in the disputed outcome of the 2023 election rather than solely in economic conditions.

“People’s anger was because he won the 2023 election after all Nigeria has experienced,” Ralph said.

He added that some Obidients remained “hurt” over the result, while questioning the basis of their belief that Peter Obi had won the election.

Ralph further argued that the resentment had influenced how some Nigerians respond to the President’s policies, suggesting that critics would condemn Tinubu’s actions regardless of whether they considered them positive or negative.

“And you know because of that hurt there’s nothing you want do whether good or bad, they’ll condemn it,” he added.

The actor also challenged Nigerians who believe Tinubu’s administration is underperforming to explain what they would do differently if given the opportunity to govern the country.

“You all are complaining that he’s not doing well and you want to do it, ok come out and tell us your plan,” Ralph said.

He argued that Tinubu had presented his plans before assuming office and maintained that the President was implementing them.

Ralph’s comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users questioning his argument and others pointing to the country’s economic and political challenges.

The reactions reflect the continuing divide over Tinubu’s presidency and the 2023 election, which remains a politically sensitive subject among supporters of the President, Peter Obi and other opposition figures.

Ralph’s remarks were made as commentary on the political debate. They represent his view of the reasons behind opposition to Tinubu and do not establish the motivations of all Peter Obi supporters or other Nigerians critical of the President.
