NNPC, NLNG, Customs and Dangote are among partners for the GOCOP 2026 conference on 8 October in Lagos, themed around the 2027 elections

The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers has named the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Nigeria LNG Limited, the Nigeria Customs Service and the Dangote Group among partners for the GOCOP 2026 conference in Lagos.

GOCOP Publicity Secretary Kemi Yesufu announced the lineup on Monday, 28 September 2026, in a statement issued in Abuja.

Other public partners include the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, the Nigerian Communications Commission, the Bank of Industry, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Private firms listed as supporters are TAJBank, Emadeb Energy, Setraco Limited, Sovereign Trust Insurance and Nestlé Nigeria Plc.

The 10th annual conference will start at 10 a.m. on Thursday, 8 October 2026, at Radisson Blu Hotel, 38 to 40 Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

The theme is “2027 Elections: Trust, Transparency and Shared Responsibilities.”

Independent National Electoral Commission Chairman Prof Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, will give the keynote address. Dr Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, founding partner of Olisa Agbakoba Legal and a former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, will chair the meeting.

The panel will include CP Abayomi Shogunle, Commissioner of Police for Election Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation at Force Headquarters, Abuja; Prof Tayo Popoola, Head of Mass Communication at the University of Lagos; Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack, Creative Director of Gender Agenda and founder of WEWE Network Afrique; and Lanre Arogundade, Executive Director of the International Press Centre.

GOCOP Deputy President and Conference Planning Committee Chairman Olumide Iyanda thanked the sponsors.

He said backing from public and private organisations would help the guild stage the conference as it marks its 10th edition.

The meeting is expected to examine the duties of electoral bodies, politicians, security agencies, the media, civil society and voters in rebuilding public confidence before the 2027 general elections.

GOCOP is a business membership group of 127 online publications. Its members own and run digital publishing firms across Nigeria.

The guild says it works on the business and ethics of online publishing, professional standards and the standing of digital journalism.
