NSCDC arrests eight suspects linked to Koraman Nayalli outpost attack in Katsina, restoring order after arson and property destruction

Katsina, Katsina State The Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested eight suspects in connection with the attack on its Koraman Nayalli outpost, authorities confirmed on Monday.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Buhari Hamisu, said the incident occurred on Sunday when a large group of miscreants protested a raid that resulted in the death of a suspected drug peddler, Uzairu, alias ‘Dan’kuda’.

“The miscreants stormed the premises of the outpost at Koraman Nayalli, Sabuwar Unguwa Quarters, and set the building ablaze. Three motorcycles and other property belonging to the outpost were also destroyed,” Hamisu said.

The attackers, armed with weapons, also visited nearby NSCDC and Police outposts at Filin Kanada before security operatives intervened.

Special Response Squads from both the NSCDC and the police quickly controlled the situation, restoring normalcy.

State Commandant of the NSCDC, Abbas Moriki, has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

A seven-man committee has been constituted to ensure a detailed inquiry, and an on-the-spot assessment of the outpost was conducted.

Moriki warned that all criminals and economic saboteurs must desist from such acts or face the full consequences of the law.
