Oba Otudeko Foundation delivers a 2,400-square-metre administrative complex at Olabisi Onabanjo University to improve operations and service delivery

The Oba Otudeko Foundation, the social impact arm of Honeywell Group, has completed and delivered a 2,400-square-metre administrative complex at the main campus of Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

The facility is designed to strengthen institutional capacity and improve administrative coordination, operational efficiency, and service delivery within the university system.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the newly completed complex is already operational and houses several key administrative units of the institution.

The project was implemented against the backdrop of persistent infrastructure challenges facing Nigeria’s higher education sector, where institutions continue to grapple with rising student populations and limited administrative space.

Spokesperson of the Oba Otudeko Foundation, Yewande Giwa, said the initiative reflects a long-term commitment to strengthening institutional systems that support education and innovation.

She explained that the foundation’s focus extends beyond physical infrastructure to include governance structures and service delivery frameworks within academic institutions.

“The Oba Otudeko Foundation recognises that true educational excellence depends on the strength of the systems and structures that support teaching, learning, and research,” she said.

She added that the intervention aligns with the foundation’s broader goals of advancing education and entrepreneurship while strengthening institutions that contribute to national development.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the OOU Governing Council, Prof Toyin Ashiru, described the project as a significant milestone in addressing longstanding infrastructure gaps within the university.

He said the new administrative building would improve staff productivity, enhance coordination, and strengthen service delivery to students and stakeholders.

“The Oba Otudeko Administrative Building stands as both a functional and symbolic milestone in our institutional journey,” he said.

Prof Ashiru also acknowledged the continued support of Dr Oba Otudeko, noting that his contributions have played a key role in the university’s development over the years.

The administrative complex adds to a growing portfolio of education-focused investments linked to Dr Oba Otudeko, including the Honeywell Auditorium at Lagos Business School.

Beyond infrastructure development, Honeywell Group also runs the Honeywell Excellence Programme, which provides graduates with leadership and business training aimed at improving employability and entrepreneurship capacity.

The Foundation said its ongoing interventions in education are designed to strengthen institutional resilience and expand opportunities for sustainable economic development.
