Oladips EFCC allegation surfaces as the rapper claims he paid ₦10m to the anti-graft agency despite no evidence of wrongdoing found against him

Oladips EFCC allegation has stirred public outrage after the popular Nigerian rapper claimed that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission extorted ₦10 million from him before his release from custody.

In a candid interview on the Trending podcast, Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji, better known as Oladips, recounted how he was arrested alongside some of his neighbours during a midnight raid by EFCC operatives in November 2024.

The singer, who spent five days in detention, insisted that nothing incriminating was found on him after investigations. Despite that, he said, he was forced to part with ₦10 million before being released.

He described the conditions of his detention as deplorable, saying inmates were “packed like sardines” and fed poorly. He expressed gratitude to fellow artiste Zlatan Ibile, who sent him food throughout his stay.

“It’s just one smelling place. They gave us nonsense food. Zlatan was sending me food every day. I’m not even supposed to be there at all. They didn’t find anything on me — not a single thing. Yet they collected ₦10 million before releasing me,” he said.

When asked if he would consider taking legal action, the Àjàlá Travel crooner responded with frustration, saying he had no powerful backing to challenge the system.

“Who is my father? It’s just me and my truth. I don’t know how the system works. If I was guilty, I’d be on their page by now. They know I’m saying the truth,” he added.

Oladips concluded that his ordeal reflected the grim reality of the Nigerian justice system, lamenting, “Nigeria just happened to me.”

The EFCC has not issued an official statement regarding Oladips EFCC allegation, which continues to fuel debate among fans and the public over accountability and the treatment of suspects.
