Ooni of Ife praises Tinubu for migration reforms, digital passport system, and modernization ofNigeria Immigration Service operations

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reforms, digitalisation of the passport system, and the introduction of modern technologies to strengthen migration management in Nigeria.

The remarks were made on Thursday, January 22, 2026, during a visit to the headquarters of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Abuja to renew his diplomatic passport.

The first-class monarch also praised the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Comptroller-General of the NIS, Mrs Kemi Nanna Nandap, for championing policies that have positively impacted service delivery and border governance.

The Ooni was warmly received by Mrs Nandap and members of her management team.

NIS Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, said in a statement that the monarch highlighted the importance of the Federal Government’s initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting their contribution to efficiency and transparency within the agency.

“The first-class monarch used the opportunity to praise the President and Commander-in-Chief, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and the Comptroller-General for transformative policies being implemented at the Nigeria Immigration Service,” Akinlabi said.
