Osimhen Lagos celebration as Super Eagles stars unwind in a nightclub hours after Nigeria’s AFCON bronze medal triumph

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen was seen celebrating in a Lagos nightclub alongside Nigeria captain Wilfred Ndidi and defender Chidozie Awaziem just hours after the national team secured third place at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The players were spotted in the early hours of Sunday at a Lagos club during a birthday celebration hosted by social media personality Babatunde Akinpelu, popularly known as Tunde Perry.

A video shared by Akinpelu showed Victor Osimhen with Wilfred Ndidi and Chidozie Awaziem visible in the background, drawing swift attention across social media platforms.

Akinpelu, who filmed himself with the Galatasaray striker, confirmed the timing of the outing, stating it took place around 8 am on Sunday, coinciding with his birthday.

The video showed Osimhen receiving a warm and energetic welcome inside the club, adding a human touch to Nigeria’s hard-fought AFCON campaign.

The Osimhen Lagos celebration came barely hours after Nigeria defeated Egypt 4 to 2 on penalties in Casablanca on Saturday to claim a record ninth bronze medal in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Regulation time ended goalless before goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali delivered a commanding performance in the shootout, saving penalties from Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush.

Akor Adams, Moses Simon, Alex Iwobi and Ademola Lookman converted their spot kicks to secure the win for Nigeria.

The third place playoff followed semi final defeats for both teams, with Nigeria losing on penalties to hosts Morocco and Egypt falling 1 to 0 against Senegal.

Victor Osimhen did not feature in the third place match but was earlier seen leaving the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca on Saturday after joining teammates in dressing room celebrations.

The striker played five matches at the tournament, scoring four goals and providing one assist.

Wilfred Ndidi featured in all of Nigeria’s matches except the final group game against Uganda, sustaining an apparent injury during the quarter final win over Algeria.

Chidozie Awaziem made substitute appearances in four matches during the competition.

Several Super Eagles players, including Sevilla duo Akor Adams and Chidera Ejuke, have since departed Morocco, while others are expected to attend the medal presentation ceremony ahead of Sunday’s final.

Hosts Morocco will face Senegal in the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with kick off scheduled for 8:00 pm.
