Sekinah Oyebamiji praised voter turnout and the conduct of INEC officials after casting her ballot in Ikire

Dr Sekinah Oyebamiji, wife of the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has expressed confidence that her husband will win the ongoing Osun State governorship election.

Sekinah Oyebamiji spoke shortly after casting her ballot at Ward 9, Unit 003, AUD Primary School, Ikire, in Irewole Local Government Area, on Saturday.

The APC candidate’s wife described the voting exercise as peaceful and orderly, while praising the turnout of voters across the area.

“The voters’ turnout is quite impressive. The INEC officials are conducting themselves professionally. There are police officers around,” she said.

She also noted that the presence of security personnel had contributed to maintaining order at the polling location.

“I think the process is good so far. The expectation is that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji will carry the day,” she said.

Her comments reflected the confidence within the APC camp as voting continued across the state, with major candidates and their supporters monitoring the process at polling units.

The election has attracted significant attention, with political parties campaigning intensely in the build-up to the poll and security agencies deployed across the state to maintain order.

Sekinah Oyebamiji’s assessment of the process was notably positive, particularly regarding the conduct of officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Her comments came as voters continued to exercise their franchise in an election expected to determine the next governor of Osun State.

With polling still ongoing at the time of her remarks, the outcome remained uncertain, with the final result dependent on votes cast across the state’s local government areas.
