Oyo APC described the claims as false, speculative, and unnecessary, stressing that no selection has been made. The party urged the public to disregard the reports.

Some media outlets had earlier suggested that consensus candidates for governorship positions in Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo states had been selected, but no names were provided, nor were the selection processes explained.

Sadare reassured party members that all procedures for selecting governorship candidates would adhere strictly to democratic and constitutional guidelines.

He confirmed that applications and declarations from interested aspirants have not yet begun.

“The APC operates in line with Nigeria’s Constitution, the Electoral Act, and its own party rules. All qualified members will have a fair opportunity to contest when the process officially starts,” he said.

The party noted that its current focus is on completing internal activities such as state congresses and preparing for the national convention in Abuja.

Oyo APC also emphasised that the only confirmed endorsement at this stage is for Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for 2027.
