Umar Sani says PDP is currently “orphaned,” lacking clear leadership and calling for party reconciliation after court nullified Wike allies’ authority

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Umar Sani, has described the party as an “orphan,” saying it is not being driven by any leadership bloc.

Speaking on Arise Television’s The Morning Show, Sani noted that the party’s key challenge is restoring internal structure and unity, rather than merely participating in elections.

He highlighted that the authority claimed by allies of former Governor Nyesom Wike to form the PDP National Executive Committee had been nullified by the court, as the members were under suspension at the time.

Sani urged reconciliation, referencing the Ibadan Court of Appeal’s advice to review the party list, adjust as necessary, and adopt a resolution acceptable to all factions.
