Police Inspector Pascal Okpabi, serving with Operation Hadin Kai in Damaturu, collapsed on duty and died due to complications from a partial stroke linked to high blood pressure

A Police Inspector, Pascal Okpabi, attached to the 5 PMF Benin and serving on special duty with Operation Hadin Kai Joint Task Force, has tragically passed away.

Police sources confirmed the incident to Zagazola Makama, stating that it occurred on Saturday, May 4, 2025, at approximately 4:50 p.m.

Inspector Okpabi, who was posted to the 233 Battalion in Damaturu, reportedly collapsed while on duty. His Unit Commander, ASP Ogwouno Ekene, reported the incident, stating that the Inspector was immediately taken to the University Teaching Hospital Damaturu for medical attention.

At the hospital, medical personnel diagnosed Inspector Okpabi with a partial stroke believed to be linked to high blood pressure. Despite receiving treatment, he was sadly confirmed dead at approximately 4:30 p.m. on the same day.

The deceased Inspector Okpabi hailed from Ebonyi State. His family has been duly informed of this unfortunate loss, and arrangements for his burial are currently underway.

The Nigeria Police Force mourns the loss of Inspector Pascal Okpabi, who served diligently in the challenging environment of Operation Hadin Kai.
