Raphinha has signed a new Barcelona contract until June 2030, with an official announcement and ceremony expected later this week
Barcelona have secured the long-term future of Brazilian forward Raphinha after he signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until June 2030.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano broke the news on Tuesday, saying the agreement had been completed after negotiations with Raphinha’s representatives and lawyers.
“Raphinha has signed new contract at Barcelona until June 2030,” Romano posted on X. “All approved, closed with his camp and lawyers. New deal done and sealed.”
Romano added that Barcelona’s official announcement and a ceremony could take place later this week, potentially on Friday, provided the remaining documentation is completed as planned.
The agreement represents a significant commitment from Barcelona to one of the most influential members of their current squad.
Raphinha’s previous contract was due to expire in June 2028 after he signed an extension with Barcelona in May 2025.
The club’s decision to renew him again two years before the end of that agreement underlines his importance to the team.
Barcelona sporting director Deco had already indicated in September that the club was working towards extending Raphinha’s contract, with the proposed agreement expected to run until June 2030.
Raphinha joined Barcelona from Leeds United in July 2022 and has since established himself as a key attacking player at the Catalan club.
The 29-year-old has made 185 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 89 goals and providing 62 assists, according to figures reported following the latest contract development.
His importance increased significantly during the 2024/25 campaign under manager Hansi Flick, when he recorded 34 goals and 25 assists in 56 appearances across all competitions.
Barcelona also identified him as one of the club’s captains during that period.
Raphinha’s form has remained impressive into the 2026/27 season.
Reports indicate that he has continued to produce at a prolific rate, strengthening Barcelona’s determination to secure his future before his existing contract entered its final stages.
The new agreement also ends renewed uncertainty over the Brazilian’s long-term future.
Raphinha had attracted reported interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, making the extension an important move for Barcelona as they seek to retain their established attacking core.
Despite the reported completion of the contract, Barcelona are yet to formally announce the renewal themselves.
That official confirmation is expected this week, with Friday identified as the possible date for the announcement and presentation if the remaining paperwork is completed without complications.
For now, however, Romano’s report indicates that the most important part of the process has already been completed: Raphinha has signed and is set to remain a Barcelona player until June 2030.
