Ronaldo Forbes richest athlete ranking: Cristiano Ronaldo tops Forbes 2026 list with $300m earnings, matching Michael Jordan’s six No.1 finishes

Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has once again topped the Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid athletes for 2026, extending his financial dominance in global sport with an estimated $300 million earnings over the past 12 months.

The Al Nassr forward achieved the milestone for a sixth time, equalling NBA legend Michael Jordan for the second-most No.1 finishes in Forbes history. Only golfer Tiger Woods remains ahead with 11 top placements.

Ronaldo’s earnings breakdown includes approximately $235 million from his Al Nassr contract and $65 million generated through endorsements and business ventures, reinforcing his continued commercial power at the age of 41.

The latest ranking also places him among an elite group of veteran athletes still dominating global earnings charts, alongside basketball icon LeBron James and Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton.

TheForbes highlights the sustained global appeal of the Portuguese star, whose brand strength remains intact more than two decades into his professional career.

Forbes reported that the top 50 highest-paid athletes collectively earned a record $4.1 billion before taxes and agent fees, with 10 athletes surpassing the $100 million mark.

Ronaldo’s continued presence at the summit comes shortly after he led Al Nassr to the Saudi Pro League title in the 2025/26 season, scoring a decisive brace on the final day against Damac to secure his first league championship in Saudi Arabia.

The full list features stars across football, basketball, boxing, golf and motorsport, with Lionel Messi, LeBron James, Canelo Álvarez and Shohei Ohtani rounding out the top five positions.
