Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expanded the state’s digital education drive by distributing smart learning tablets and core textbooks to over 600,000 public secondary school students across Lagos.

The initiative, part of the governor’s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda, reinforces education and technology as key pillars for economic growth.

It also aligns with the broader national vision of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritises human capital development.

According to the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, the programme has evolved from a pandemic response into a structured statewide reform aimed at improving learning outcomes.

Speaking on the rollout, Sanwo-Olu said the government is focused on expanding access and opportunity for students.

He noted that the blend of digital tools and traditional learning resources will help learners thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, said the goal is to combine innovation with foundational literacy to deliver a transformative learning experience.

The tablets, powered by Liv.ing SIM technology and the Roducate platform, provide curriculum-based lessons, instructional videos, mock examinations and life skills content.

When paired with simplified textbooks, the system ensures continuous access to quality education beyond the classroom.

Officials said the initiative is already delivering measurable impact, citing improved academic performance in recent years.

With its expansion, the programme is expected to deepen inclusive learning and strengthen outcomes for students across the state.
