Spiritual approach to Nigeria security gains attention as Chaplain Daniel Alimi urges faith-based solutions alongside military efforts to tackle insecurity

Alimi made the appeal in a statement issued on Wednesday, stressing that national transformation requires both political action and spiritual commitment. He argued that Nigeria’s recovery depends on aligning governance with moral and religious values.

“Nigeria’s transformation is not just a political process, it is a spiritual responsibility. When we align our hearts with God and our actions with purpose, national restoration becomes inevitable,” he said.

The Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps, a faith-based paramilitary organisation, noted that its leadership has consistently advocated spiritual reawakening as a pathway to national renewal.

The statement highlighted Alimi’s role in promoting unity, discipline, and collaboration among security agencies and civil institutions.

According to the organisation, the complexities of Nigeria’s security and moral challenges require a holistic response that integrates strategic leadership with ethical and spiritual guidance.

It maintained that relying solely on military solutions may not deliver lasting peace.

The statement further described Alimi’s advocacy as a decisive push to reposition national discourse around values, responsibility, and collective purpose.

It added that the corps remains committed to supporting efforts aimed at strengthening social cohesion and national stability.
