 Tinubu 74th birthday tributes pour in as Akpabio, Abbas and others praise President’s leadership and reforms

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, in Abuja on Sunday led principal officers of the National Assembly in celebrating the 74th birthday of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising his leadership and reform agenda.

Tinubu, who turned 74 on March 29, received a wave of goodwill messages from top lawmakers, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu.

In a statement he personally signed, Akpabio described the President as an audacious and visionary leader, noting that his bold economic reforms, though demanding, were already beginning to yield results.

He pledged the Senate’s continued support, emphasising that the National Assembly would sustain collaboration with the executive to deliver lasting national impact.

“Mr President, I must admit that you are an audacious and visionary leader whose quest to set the nation on a transformational pedestal is never in doubt,” Akpabio said, adding that Tinubu’s passion for Nigeria’s progress remained compelling.

Similarly, Abbas, in a message issued by his media aide, portrayed the President as a pro-democracy advocate and seasoned administrator whose contributions to Nigeria’s democratic journey remain significant.

He highlighted ongoing reforms under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, citing improvements in revenue generation, transparency, infrastructure development and security coordination.

“Under the Renewed Hope Agenda, Nigeria is witnessing far-reaching reforms and realignment of its resources for the betterment of the people,” Abbas said, describing Tinubu’s decisions as courageous and forward-looking.

Kalu also commended the President’s leadership, describing it as visionary and impactful. In a message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, he said Tinubu’s policies were positioning the country for sustained growth and long-term stability.

“The economic initiatives anchored on the Renewed Hope Agenda will continue to impact positively on citizens and future generations,” Kalu stated, while wishing the President continued good health and wisdom.

In the same vein, Jibrin praised Tinubu’s reform-driven leadership since assuming office in May 2023, noting that the administration had remained focused on repositioning the country for durable progress.

In his message, the deputy senate president expressed optimism about the President’s political future, projecting a decisive victory in the 2027 general election.

“By the grace of God, Nigerians will overwhelmingly vote for President Tinubu,” Jibrin said, while offering prayers for the President’s health and longevity.

The Tinubu 74th birthday tributes underscore strong backing from the legislature, with lawmakers reaffirming their commitment to support the administration’s policies and programmes.
