Tinubu Africa-France Summit trip begins with visits to France, Kenya and Rwanda to boost partnerships, investment and economic reforms

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on Saturday depart Abuja on a strategic three-nation trip to France, Kenya and Rwanda, as part of efforts to deepen international partnerships and promote economic growth.

The Tinubu Africa-France Summit trip was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, who said the visit would include participation in two high-level continental gatherings.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to make his first stop in France before proceeding to Nairobi, where he will attend the Africa-France Summit co-chaired by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto.

The summit, themed “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth,” will focus on critical areas including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation and climate action.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to participate in sessions scheduled for May 11 and May 12, reinforcing Nigeria’s commitment to strategic cooperation with African nations and France.

Officials said the gathering will serve as a powerful platform for leaders to address pressing issues such as economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and peace-building across the continent.

Following the Kenya engagement, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will travel to Kigali to attend the Africa CEO Forum, a major annual event bringing together business leaders, investors and policymakers.

The forum, organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation, will centre on the theme “Scale or Fail,” with discussions aimed at accelerating growth through regional integration and cross-border investment.

During the Tinubu Africa-France Summit trip, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to deliver keynote statements highlighting his administration’s economic reforms and Nigeria’s investment potential.

The President will also hold high-level meetings with global and African business leaders on the sidelines of both events.

Bayo Onanuga noted that the President will be accompanied by senior government officials and ministers, signalling the administration’s coordinated push to attract investment and strengthen diplomatic ties.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding his engagements in Rwanda.
