President Tinubu visits Nasarawa State to commission key projects, meet traditional rulers and host a townhall with stakeholders on Wednesday, says state official

Tinubu visits Nasarawa State on Wednesday for a working visit aimed at commissioning major infrastructure and interacting with key community leaders and stakeholders.

This was confirmed by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr Ibrahim Tanko, during a press briefing on Tuesday.

He said all modalities had been concluded to ensure a successful outing, including high-level security and logistical arrangements. According to him, the visit is expected to deepen development and strengthen federal-state collaboration under the leadership of Governor Abdullahi Sule.

President Tinubu will commission landmark projects built by the Sule administration, including the Lafia flyover and underpass, the Dualised Shendam Road, the new state secretariat, and the Lafia International Airport.

He is also scheduled to pay homage to the Emir of Lafia and the council of traditional rulers. Between these ceremonial stops, the President is expected to inspect other state-funded projects before heading to the Government House for a townhall meeting with stakeholders.

At Lafia Square, he will flag off the distribution of electric tricycles, tractors, and security vehicles, reinforcing the administration’s push for grassroots empowerment and improved mobility. The visit will end with a meeting at the Government House banquet hall before the President returns to Abuja.

Dr Tanko urged the people of Nasarawa to “come en masse and give the President a rousing welcome,” adding that “Nasarawa State will grow higher and higher with this historic visit.”

In a related address, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Gabriel Angbashi, called on journalists to uphold professionalism by fact-checking information and maintaining a constructive relationship with government officials.

He noted that the President’s visit is significant and deserves the cooperation of the media, residents, and stakeholders to make it a success.

The state government remains optimistic that the outcomes of the visit will attract more federal attention and investment to Nasarawa.
