Speaking to Sky Sports, England manager Thomas Tuchel praised Marcus Rashford’s natural ability but stressed that talent alone isn’t enough at the highest level.

“He can be one of the best in the world,” Tuchel said. “But he must keep pushing himself to the limit — potential means nothing without performance.”

Rashford, currently on loan at Barcelona from Manchester United, has scored three goals and assisted four in ten appearances since his summer switch.

Despite flashes of brilliance, Tuchel remains concerned that inconsistency could define the forward’s career if he doesn’t seize his peak years.

“He still has time to make the right decisions,” Tuchel said. “Otherwise, in 10 years, he might look back disappointed with what he could have become.”

The Tuchel warns Rashford 2025 remarks underline the England boss’s no-nonsense approach to player development.

He revealed regular conversations with the 27-year-old, emphasising the need to deliver whether starting or coming off the bench — both for club and country.

“It’s not about whether he has the talent — he does. It’s about proving it, week in and week out,” Tuchel added. “This level of football demands it. That is the challenge for him.”

Rashford has featured in nearly every England squad since Tuchel’s appointment in March, missing only the summer internationals against Senegal and Andorra due to a late-season injury while on loan at Aston Villa.
