UK, Canada, and Australia officially grant Palestine recognition, aiming to advance peace talks and the two-state solution in the Middle East

Palestine Recognition has been officially granted by the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia in a coordinated diplomatic move.

The announcement comes as efforts to revive peace talks between Palestinians and Israelis intensify ahead of the United Nations General Assembly.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated, “Today, to help restore the peace process and advance the two-state solution, the United Kingdom officially recognises the State of Palestine.”

Shortly after, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney confirmed the decision, tweeting, “Canada recognises the State of Palestine, and we extend our support to efforts that can bring lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis.”

Hours later, Australia joined the initiative, formally recognising Palestine as an independent state.

The move aligns the three countries with several others who have recently taken similar steps, signalling international support for Palestinian statehood.

Analysts describe this coordinated recognition as a significant diplomatic boost for Palestinians, potentially strengthening negotiations and reinvigorating stalled peace efforts in the decades-long Middle East conflict.

Observers also note that the timing, ahead of the UN General Assembly, could influence wider international engagement.
