ValueJet Lagos–Owerri daily flights begin March 23, 2026, as the airline increases frequency to meet rising demand and improve connectivity

ValueJet Airlines has announced the introduction of daily services on its Lagos–Owerri route, increasing frequency from three weekly flights to seven as part of efforts to strengthen domestic connectivity and meet rising passenger demand.

The airline confirmed in a statement on Monday that the new schedule will take effect from March 23, 2026, marking a significant boost to operations along one of Nigeria’s busiest domestic corridors.

The ValueJet Lagos–Owerri daily flights are expected to ease travel pressure between the commercial capital and the South-East, a route heavily patronised by business travellers, families and entrepreneurs.

Managing Director Omololu Majekodunmi said the expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to improving accessibility and supporting economic activity.

“The introduction of daily flights on the Lagos–Owerri route is in direct response to growing passenger demand. Our goal is to provide dependable and convenient travel options that connect people, businesses and opportunities across Nigeria,” Majekodunmi said.

Majekodunmi described the route as strategically important for commerce, education and social engagement between both regions.

Increased frequency, he noted, would allow travellers to plan with greater confidence and flexibility.

“Reliable air transport remains critical to national development. By increasing frequency, we are helping travellers plan better while also strengthening economic and social ties,” Majekodunmi added.

Industry analysts say the move positions ValueJet to capture a larger share of the domestic market while reinforcing its operational footprint.

The decisive expansion also underscores growing confidence in Nigeria’s aviation sector despite economic headwinds.
