Zamfara kidnapping release of 142 victims by a bandit leader sparks hope for peace as talks continue in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area

Zamfara kidnapping release has brought relief to families in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, as 142 abducted villagers were freed in the middle of ongoing peace negotiations.

Reports confirmed that the victims were released without conditions on Wednesday by a notorious bandit leader, Muhammadu Dansaadiyya.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the abducted villagers had been taken from several communities, including Gidan Gardawa, Kyambarawa, Maguru, Kurya Madaro, Kagara, Yankaba, Madira, and Dogon Daji.

“The 142 victims regained freedom on August 27 at about 8:30 a.m.

They were immediately taken to General Hospital, Kaura Namoda, for medical checks, debriefed, and later reunited with their families,” sources revealed.

Authorities say the release is tied to non-military strategies by the federal government, aimed at restoring peace to the North West and securing the freedom of others still in captivity.

The development has been described as a powerfully symbolic step toward reconciliation, offering a glimmer of hope in a region plagued by recurring abductions.
