Dangote Cement and Nigeria’s Housing Deficit were key talking points as Minister Ahmed Musa Dangiwa praised the company’s economic role and urged it to support government housing initiatives

Dangote Cement and Nigeria’s Housing Deficit are increasingly linked as Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, commended the company’s contribution to the economy and called for deeper collaboration to solve the country’s housing crisis.

During a visit to the company’s exhibition stand at the Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) in Abuja, Dangiwa emphasized the urgent need to close Nigeria’s housing deficit, now estimated at over 20 million units.

“We recognize Dangote Cement’s pivotal role and urge them to extend this impact to the housing sector,” the minister said.

The show’s coordinator, Bar. Festus Adebayo, echoed the sentiment, stating that Public Private Partnerships (PPP) and CSR-driven initiatives are key to overcoming housing challenges.

Dangote Cement, a sponsor and active participant at the 19th AIHS, sees the event as a strategic platform to engage with key industry players under the theme, “Reimagining Housing Through Innovation, Collaboration and Policy.”
