Addressing thousands of believers, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye urged Christians to avoid prioritizing material wealth at the expense of their spiritual lives, calling such choices “foolish.”

“God is not against enjoyment,” Adeboye clarified. “But the body you’re pampering will return to dust. It’s your spirit that will stand before God, so nurture that.”

He acknowledged that prosperity is part of God’s promises but strongly condemned acquiring riches through immoral means such as lying, stealing, or cheating.

“If you’re chasing money and losing your soul in the process, that’s stupidity,” he said.

The revered RCCG leader emphasized that being an overcomer in Christ requires sacrifice, spiritual discipline, and a deliberate rejection of worldly standards.

“You are a mix of dust and divinity. The flesh pulls you down, but the Spirit of God lifts you up. Choose the Spirit,” he concluded.
