She shared this incident during her sermon at a men’s programme organised by the church. The revelation, captured in a now-viral video, shocked both members and viewers alike.

According to Pastor Folu, the man involved was a native of Ekiti State and had been serving in Cape Town, South Africa. On one of her missionary trips to the city, she was scheduled to speak at the parish under his care.

“To my surprise, the service was held inside an eatery,” she said. “While I was still preaching, a woman walked in and began packing the chairs.”

Despite the awkward setting, \$8,000 was collected during that service. The intention was to use the money to begin securing a proper church building.

However, not long after, the pastor vanished without a trace. He abandoned his wife and reappeared in the United States, where he reportedly remarried.

This revelation has raised questions within the church and beyond. That a trusted minister in one of Africa’s largest Pentecostal churches would betray such a mission shocks many.
