Manchester City eyes Lookman as a potential summer signing if Brazilian winger Savinho departs the Etihad, PUNCH Sports Extra has learned.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently leading the chase for Savinho, but conflicting opinions within their management over the financial feasibility of the deal have stalled progress.

Should Spurs manage to complete the move, City are reportedly prepared to act swiftly to secure Nigerian star Ademola Lookman.

According to Caught Offside, City’s interest in Lookman has intensified due to Savinho’s uncertain future, and the Premier League champions could join an already growing list of suitors for the Atalanta forward.

Lookman, who netted 20 goals last season and famously bagged a hat-trick in the 2023/24 Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen, is reportedly frustrated with Atalanta after a potential transfer to Inter Milan fell through earlier in the summer.

Despite securing signings like Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Rayan Cherki, Marcus Bettinelli, Sverre Nypan, and James Trafford this window, City remain active in the market.

They have also been linked with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guéhi.

Lookman’s situation in Bergamo has not gone unnoticed. Arsenal are said to be monitoring his availability, Chelsea may consider him if their move for Alejandro Garnacho fails, and Aston Villa have shown preliminary interest.
